In the past couple of months, I’ve read about a hundred clean tech business plans and I, like many others, have come to the conclusion that there is no shortage of brilliant clean tech ideas, but there IS a shortage of qualified executives to execute them. That’s why I’m VERY EXCITED about the 2012 Cleantech Fellows Institute.
The Cleantech Fellows Institute is a unique education program aimed at C-level executives looking to make the transition into the cleantech industry. As mentioned, there are not enough experienced, successful executives in the cleantech community – a critical ingredient in venture formation, funding, and growth. The goal of this program is to take seasoned execs from biotech, aerospace, enterprise technologies, and other capital intensive industries, connect them with technologies from Colorado’s cutting-edge energy laboratories, and support the executives in their development of a venture-backable company.
The Institute will be accepting applications until July 27 and the program begins on September 17. While candidates will need to travel occasionally to Denver for site visits and on-site lectures, they do not need to be located in Colorado to participate in the Institute.
